Job Summary:

As the Marketing Manager at Protective Packaging Ltd (PPL), you will be instrumental in driving company growth by ensuring client satisfaction and enhancing brand visibility. You will lead the conception and execution of marketing campaigns, balancing immediate tasks with long-term strategies, while closely collaborating with senior leadership. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will mentor a Marketing Executive to elevate their skills, oversee team workload prioritisation, and guide efforts towards achieving the company’s commercial objectives. You’ll receive comprehensive training and hands-on experience across various departments such as Finance, Customer Support, Production, Purchasing, Sales, Marketing, Operations, HR, Quality, and IT; facilitating a thorough understanding of our business operation. This role offers significant exposure and advancement opportunities within both our UK and USA businesses.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Define positioning, identify target audiences, and craft marketing plans across various channels and segments.
  • Execute marketing programs from inception to completion, leveraging internal resources and fostering collaboration.
  • Analyse customer insights, market trends, and best practices to develop successful strategies.
  • Maintain analytics reporting across multiple platforms, extracting key insights for future campaign development.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including key board members.
  • Support the sales team with relevant research, align promotional activities with marketing plans, and assist in new product launches and sales initiatives.
  • Develop creative briefs and guide creative direction for advertising and communications efforts across print, digital, and video platforms.
  • Plan and execute multichannel campaigns focused on driving ROI, with an emphasis on LinkedIn, email, content marketing, and B2B campaigns.
  • Implement online traffic acquisition strategies, covering SEO, PPC, social media, and PR.
  • Manage budgets, expense estimations, and targets, with support from the Marketing Executive.
  • Oversee content updates for customer and internal touchpoints to execute a successful B2B marketing strategy.
  • Lead event strategies with a focus on quality lead generation, including attendance at key trade events.
  • Create and implement inventive marketing tactics for a multichannel approach, including emails, e-books, guides, blogs, videos, and social posts.
  • Gather customer and market insights to inform outreach strategies and increase conversions, and generate more qualified leads.
  • Drive organic and paid social growth to build an engaged community and generate high-quality leads.
  • Track and analyse the effectiveness of marketing initiatives, optimising as needed.
  • Present ideas and deliverables to internal and external teams, communicating with senior leaders about programs, strategies, and budgets.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in marketing, business, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in B2B lead generation Marketing role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strategic thinking and commercial acumen.
  • Project management experience.
  • Ability to multitask and make decisions.
  • Metrics-driven mind-set with a creative eye.
  • Experience with CRM and marketing integration, preferably MS Dynamics.
  • Experience of building data lists and executing successful outbound campaigns
  • Proficiency with online marketing tools and social networking sites.
  • Familiarity with WordPress and Adobe Suite.
  • Proficient in Google Tools, including GA and GSC.
  • Design skills using tools like Canva and InDesign to develop high performing asset.
  • Adaptability to a fast-changing environment.
  • Experience presenting to board-level executives.
  • Desire to stay updated on new techniques and best practices.
  • Some involvement or knowledge of sales.
  • Willingness to travel locally and internationally.
